Samantha Ramirez Ischy, my St. Patty's Bride!
What did everyone do for St. Patty's this year? I know the answer! Most of you went out to the bars and pubs to drink the day away and celebrate! For me it was a work day, however I did not consider it to be work because my team and I got to style a beautiful bride, and her lovely bridesmaids at one of my favorite Nashville wedding venues, Green Door Gourmet!
First of all, I loved that Samantha chose St. Patty's Day for her wedding, and the decor based around the theme did not disappoint! I also admired how Sam incorporated light greens and purples for her color scheme, and managed to make everything extremely elegant.
To give a little back story, Samantha discovered my business through Wedding Wire and immediately wanted to book me for her special day! She was a pleasure to communicate with and easygoing, therefore I could tell that we would get along very well. Sam is a very important bride to me-- being from Texas, we met for her trial in September just days after the devastating Hurricane Harvey hit her home city in Houston. Luckily, the hurricane had done little damage to her home, but several of her friends and family suffered a great deal from the devastation.
Fast forward to her wedding day hair and makeup! Since her trial was several months ago, I wanted to amp up her wedding day makeup look after seeing that her wedding dress was more glamourous, along with having shades of purple incorporated with her wedding colors. She also has very dark hair and dark brown eyes, therefore I wanted to choose eyeshadow colors that really played them up.
To start, I prepped Sam's skin with Urban Decay's Hydra-Charged Complexion Prep Priming Spray. As warmer weather approaches, I want to make sure that my clients' skin stays fresh and hydrated and this product helps achieve that! Next I moisturized and primed Sam's skin using only one product, Waterbalm by Sonia Roselli Beauty. This is without a doubt my all time favorite moisturizer because it softens the skin, smoothes out fine lines, and acts as a primer for the foundation. As always I used and will always use Temptu airbrush foundation because it lasts all day, it's water resistant, and sweat proof! What more could you ask for? For concealer, I used my all time favorite concealer from Nars in shade, "Custard". I always make sure to set the concealer with Kat Von D's translucent setting powder . I wanted to use a really soft pink blush with a slight purple undertone to bring out the complexion of her skin. I used a powder blush by MAC in shade, "Mocha" and for highlight, I used "Spotlight" by MHD Beauty. For the eye makeup, I wanted to create a smokey eye by using a pink shimmer all over her lid, "Celestial" by Colour pop! . For her crease, I blended the shade "Soft Brown" by MAC and "Burgundy Shimmer" by Anastasia Beverly Hills. I also incorporated these same shades under her bottom lash line to make her eyes stand out even more! For her outer crease, I used a darker shade by MAC, "Carbon" and blended that really well. For eyeliner, I used the Tartiest Clay Liner in black, my go to liner! I used a new false lash on Samantha that I love by Kiss called "Lash Couture" and they really made her eyes pop! Choosing a lip color was very important as I wanted to keep them in a shade of pink but not too bright. I chose the shade "Blush".
For Sam's wedding hair style, even though she has beautiful long hair that curls like a dream, she felt more comfortable wearing it up, however, wanted to keep it soft, tousled, and romantic. Her updo was one of my favorites that I have ever styled and it was very simple to create. She wanted plenty of loose tendrils incorporated, making the finished look appear so effortless!
